Heartless became the official anti-rhino poaching song in schools around South Africa when Colé went on a mission to share her real life experience with dangerous poachers after discovering the horrific scene of a mother and baby rhino brutally murdered on her friend’s farm in Limpopo, South Africa in 2014. She was so upset about the incident and the way the crime event had been orchestrated to remove them from the farm so that poaching could proceed, that she wrote this song immediately after seeing the killed animals, and started an awareness campaign for corporates and schools to share the real story of what happened when the farm was invaded, they were removed and false charges laid to keep them away from the poaching event over a long weekend. Colé eventually got threatened with her life to stop the campaigns, but this song will live on to tell the story and share awareness of the brutal killing of wild animals in South Africa and Africa, including white and black rhinoceros, lions, elephant, cheetahs, and other wild animals that are growing close to extinction.
Colé has been a vegan most of her life and does not support any brutality towards animals or humankind.
