Cole van dais received the award in glitz and glamour at this star studded event looking relaxed, supremely elegant and absolutely stunning. The event took place at Platteland in Centurion, and halfway through the event, Colé was presented with the award for “Best international collaboration artist” with her international collaboration album, “Cole and Friends”, where she collaborated with a variety of top artists from around the world including Katrina Leskanich (X Katrina & the waves), De Jorans, Emmanuel Castis, Yolundy Amanzi, Keith McFarlane, and many more, in multiple languages including the exotic, Afrikaans, Zulu, Tsonga, German, Latvian, Spanish, Russian and English. The album took two years to record as artists from around the world collaborated and sent their recordings over to South Africa where the album was mix and mastered by accomplished music producer and sound engineer, Rick Wolff (from The White planes) at APS Studios in Bryanston, with track productions by Calie Henn (Rainbow Studios) in George. This exciting fun, adult contemporary and pop album has featured in several international publications and is available to download from itunes.
It was a very happy moment for Colé when her name was called out as the winner of the category she was nominated for and she elegantly walked onto the stage in her glamorous slinky dress sponsored by popular fashion brand, OhMyOnlineBoutique, previously Ooh Lah Lah fashion stores, founded by the prominent and stylish Durban business woman, Roseanne Narrandes. Colé has also modelled for her new range of stunning evening wear.
The awards event was an initiate by Pretoria singer /songwriter, Rea Le Roux, who wanted to give back to the independent artist community by hosting the first Independent Artist Music awards. The evening was a great success with everyone who’s someone attending. “It was so lovely to see everyone again and meet some of the new artist”.
For Colé, getting an award means being recognised for all the hard work she has put in over the years in this very tough business of music and entertainment. Colé is proud to be an independent artist and having control and ownership of almost all her music. “Being an indie artist has given me the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of opportunities and even move between genres from jazz, adult contemporary, rock, pop and dance. It has also given me the freedom to make my own decisions and work with other exciting artists from around the world, as well as tour places, as I just love to explore different places and meet all kinds of people. I know I’m one of the lucky ones having travelled so many places and performing in production shows, theatre, with bands, duos and solos. I’ve just had a very exciting life so far, but it’s taken a lot of hard work, focus, commitment and discipline. Not just managing my time and tasks, but looking after my health physically and mentally so that I can always present the best version of myself. I believe it’s all about sharing and transforming energy and venting stagnant emotions to inspire inner healing. Music is that powerful! Well, look at me! I’m addicted to the energy shared between myself and my audience and just love performing live. Once again, thank you so much for this award. I feel honoured and can only thank all the people that have made it possible, but mostly God who has invested in me a passion and desire to express myself through music and art.” – Colé van dais.
From all of at Media-Flame entertainment, well done Colé. It is well deserved as you have been working the live entertainment scene since your teenage years as part of the KTV roadshow and as I heard at one point you did 40 shows a month! Where do you get the energy?
“It comes from my heart. That excitement for life and love of connecting with people through music. It’s just so beautiful and it’s what I want to do for the rest of my life!”
We are looking forward to the next project from this talented, graceful and versatile artist who has worked over 15 years as a singer, songwriter, entertainer, actress, voice over artist, international TV presenter, Talk show host, model, social support worker and sound therapist for children with disabilities (specialising in Autism), and now influencer and video blogger.
